The County of Elgin and the City of St Thomas encourage groups to build community and celebrate the area's unique culture by holding special festivals and events in the County and City In support of this goal contributions are available for community groups which take it upon themselves to enhance the quality of life of Elgin and St Thomas citizens by organizing festivals and events within the community.

The Small Business Enterprise Centre will provide business counselling and related business services to residents wishing to start their own business to those businesses that are new or in a growth stage or even those that want to wind down their operation or are looking for information on succession The SBEC will be located with the Elgin Business Resource Centre.
